At 31 December 2022, almost 776 million data packages had been downloaded by users since the start of data access operations, consisting of a total data volume of 405 PiB (78.6 PiB of which was downloaded during 2022 alone). This Report analyses the uptake of Copernicus Sentinel data and the performance of the Sentinel Data Access System during the period 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2022.īy the end of the reporting period, the Sentinel Data Access System was supporting over 638,000 registered users, it was publishing over 32,000 data packages per day, and users were downloading on average 234 TiB per day. We are pleased to publish the eighth Copernicus Sentinel Data Access Annual Report. Sentinel Data are also available via the Copernicus Data and Information Access Services (DIAS) through several platforms. As from July 2023 and until September 2023, the Copernicus Data Hub distribution service will continue offering access to Sentinel data with a gradual ramp-down of the operations capacity and data offering. The Copernicus Data Hub distribution service will continue its full operations until the end of June 2023 to allow a smooth migration to the new Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem by all user communities. Since 24 January 2023 a new Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem has been launched to provide access to all Sentinel data with new features for visualisation and data processing. The Copernicus Open Access Hub (previously known as Sentinels Scientific Data Hub) provides complete, free and open access to Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, Sentinel-3 and Sentinel-5P user products, starting from the In-Orbit Commissioning Review (IOCR).
